About:

Drop Everything is a contemporary arts & culture organisation, based on Inis Oírr, Aran Islands, Ireland.

Est. 2012, we host an irregular weeklong residency programme for artists from anywhere and any discipline, we also run a creative education programme for the local school, and every two years~ish we throw a lil weekender open to the public, access via lottery.

We’ll also produce the odd non-island event for a rare person or situation we like the sound of. HUU. There’s a lot going on. It’s hard to put into words, but drop us a line.

Drop Everything is about getting excited by new ideas and taking the time to consider them. It’s for people who do and people who want to.

Value System:

Drop Everything is built by generosity – created by everyone who contributes, whether that’s with their art, their skill, their time or by funding the event.

Specific projects are made possible through public funding bodies, so GRMA to the Irish Tax Payers.

We take no corporate sponsorship or partners, but love collaborating with independent companies, brands and products that feel aligned.

'Drop Everything’ - Seo cónaitheacht ildisciplíneach seachtaine a dhíríonn ar chultúr na linne seo.

Tugann sé le chéile rannpháirtithe náisiúnta agus idirnáisiúnta as meascán tionscal cruthaitheach agus cuirtear críoch leis an imeacht le deireadh seachtaine a áiríonn taispeántais, léirithe agus léachtaí.

Is díocas i leith tuairimí nua é ‘Drop Everything’ agus an t-am a thógáil le cuimhneamh orthu. Is do dhaoine a dhéanann agus do dhaoine a mbíonn fonn déanaimh orthu é.

Thosaigh sé amach i 2012 agus bíonn sé ar siúl in Inis Oírr chuile dharna bliain. Is é Inis Oírr an t-oileán is lú d'Oileáin Árann, tá sé suite ar bhruach an Atlantaigh agus oidhreacht shaibhir nádúrtha agus cultúrtha aige.

I 2018 sheol ‘DE’ Bailiúchán Leabharlainne chomh maith le clár cruthaitheach oideachais agus gairmthreorach den ainm Do Anything - @do_anyting

Is iad na daoine uilig a thacaíonn le ‘Drop Everything’ a chruthaíonn é, bíodh sin lena gcuid ealaíne, scileanna, a gcuid ama nó le maoiniú an imeachta.

'For three days, the island is overrun with creative collaboration, ideas born out of drunken conversations, yet there is not a business card in sight. The best part of it all is that you come away with a renewed hope that some creatives aren’t shielding their ideas book from potential thieves, but rather cattle-prodding them into existence with new friends.

“I don’t set out for Drop Everything to be unique or different,” Nally says. She simply saw an opportunity to fertilise a bit of creative connection. “I just wanted to bring a bunch of interesting, creative people to this space so that they could meet each other, and hopefully that my audience would appreciate that as well. Everyone’s chipped in to make this work in whatever capacity.”’
