DO ANYTHING 2023

The Do Anything 2023 programme consisted of two parts. The first part was a 5 month design & construction project for Inis Oírr’s Transition Year student’s, who worked with artists and builders to create temporary social space for themselves and their school. Between February & May, they completed a design & construction project, looking at both traditional crafts of the island and contemporary designs. Led by art collective Forerunner and with guest artists and builders, including Jordan Ralph, Materials Matter, Dawn Clinton, Oona Heubach and Harrison Gardner and his crew at Common Knowledge.

Alongside this they took part in a week long Creative Education Programme where they learned how to programme and produce an event at the Pavilion and heard from a wide range of artists, entrepreneurs and professionals working across the creative industries.

Students had masterclasses with musicians, theatre makers and producers, lighting designers , photographers, writers and artists, as well as career talks and workshops from entrepreneurs, graphic designers and music producers.

This project was funded by the Arts Council’s Young People, Children and Education Project Award. This award aims to create ambitious and original projects that enable children and young people at a key transition stage in their lives to engage in the arts.
